For centuries, Oolong Tea has been prized in China. Oolong Teas are semi-oxidized and have characteristics between green tea and black tea.Only specific tea varietals create Oolong Teas, which undergo complex preparation of withering, bruising, roasting, rolling and baking to create the complex aroma, flavor and color. Depending on the duration of oxidation, season and style of roasting the color range from bright green to dark amber. Those cultivated in the Wuyi Mountains in China and in the central mountains of Taiwan are the most appreciated for their quality. Rich with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, Oolong Tea is touted for its powers to lower cholesterol and blood sugar, and promote weight loss. Oolong Tea contains less caffeine than Black Tea.
Harvested from the Wuyi Mountains, the birthplace of Oolong Tea, our Oolong Tea is a vintage blend that is roasted twice to ensure the flavors and texture of the botanicals are even and stable. With a smooth, rich body, classic-roasted aroma, and sweet finish, our Oolong Tea has honey suckle and roasted barely notes with a very pleasant, toasty aftertaste.
