Pope Francis made an apostolic journey to the earthquake hit area of Archdiocese of Camerino San Severino Marche on 26 October 2016, where thousands of displaced people had suffered, and a great deal of damage was done. The vestments made for that journey were made in the heart of Southern Italy, at the Desta headquarters.

During the trip, Pope Francis spoke to the crowd in his homily saying "Remembrance is a key word for life. We ask for the grace to remember every day, that we are not forgotten by God, that we are his beloved, unique and irreplaceable children. Remembering him gives us the strength to not give up in the face of the adversities of life. We remember how much we are worth, in the face of sadness. Bad memories come, even when we don't think about them; however, they are not rewarding they leave only melancholy and nostalgia. But how difficult it is to get rid of bad memories". The saying is that it was "easier for God to bring Israel out of Egypt than Egypt from the heart of Israel".

Desta made the sacred vestments that were used by Pope Francis, bishops and deacons, as well as the Humeral Veil and Cope worn by the Holy Father on the occasion of World Youth Day 2019 in Panama.
